one tall pine tree stands
pressed flat against the night sky
standing watch alone
Previous negative space Next leaving everything stripped bare

Sheltered by pine boughs Within brown rustling needles A new life begins Heartbeats under silky fur We secretly watch in awe

solemn reflection sometimes there is only the waiting who answers our love

All night long The wind in the high pines. How distant seems my home.
Whimsy Mimsy Nov 12, 2012 @ 11:00:38
The lonely wind sings, Stroking the leafless treetops. She wanders the earth.

Whimsy, I like the way you think and write. We have similar images going through our minds, me thinks. Great poem. 🙂

I have one lone pine in the distance, on top of a teeny mountain. The silhouette is so lovely against the mornings.

The place beneath the red pines is bare to the interweaving of red pine needles and straw grass matted thickly, packed by the white weight of winter, the making of duff, a soft cool bed to lie down on in summer and be thankful for snow.
