groves of white birch trees
clustered leafless in the wind
stark against the pines

the naked branches
stretch toward the grey heavens
lamenting the chill

like the naked birch
limbs ivory against green sheets
I reach towards you

    In your poem I felt as I felt when I was a child in my country, in the winter time. It was a lonely feeling with naked trees and everything white.

    Love the beginning with “birch”. These trees speak to me of self communication; of openness that is not naive but brave. Birch trees seem wise.
