Can we blame the Mayans?

Mother Nature
wreaked devastation,
an epic Fibonacci storm,
washing away coastline,
landmarks, lives.

A world apart
children erased
in a heartbeat –
so much evil
in so many forms.

You find safety
burying yourself deeply
inside me, forgetting
the world outside, crying,
“Yes, yes” to the walls

I watch the grey clouds
passing over
outside the window
that have seen it all
and must remember,

and I cry, “Why?”.

Love your works and really respect the kind of creativity you bring to the table…would therefore request some honest comments on one of my works posted here:
its still a first draft and maybe its too long but what the heck….am sure your comments would be the devil’s advocate I need…

The Mayans disappeared, who knows why? Enjoy your life. It is the only sense I think. Please, be happy for the holiday in your own way. Yumi xx
