hope

the milkweed have gone
to seed, leaving naught but husk
to dry and wither
holding tightly still to stem
waiting desperately for spring

Bleak though it might seem, in hope, trust you must.
Pour your hopes in a flask of spring’s belief.
Till wind takes you, for a flight, with a gust
And breeze makes of you a jocund mischief.
    🙂

    Caught in this hammock,
    Dew-wet spider web:
    February day
    Dreaming of spring.

( a slight infection of bards, it seems)
