one might see us
as cliche…two ships
passing in the night-
transient, non-incidental
without lasting connection,
the silent sounds of our sails
speaking
as we travel parallel paths
rather,
I am the axis and you the curve,
ink drawn lines
precisely stretching closer
towards infinity in the distance
always reaching
almost …
yet, I wonder,
how to sketch
the line thick enough
so our edges can touch.

Brilliant, my dear.
Especially “precisely stretching”!!
There is such palpable tension in those two little words.
This reminded me of Zeno’s paradox, as well.
Stretching ever onward,
Ever toward the horizon,
But the horizon is not
a place that we can know….

🙂 yes!! I’m so glad to be back. Even if I’m not happy with anything written yet haha…feels so forced and stiff. And so glad to see you around as well.
Are you posting?

Aah–not yet. But I am primed. Have loads of stuff I’ve been working on. I almost feel like I’m beginning all over again. Somehow I’m a little trepidatious. Don’t know exactly where/how to begin.
But of course I do know. Dive In!!
Part of my problem is that I’ve been considering trying to get published more and that of course affects what I put on the blog and what I hold back but I’m tending to think that I just need to get back at it and forgo the temptations of the ego (which is what seeking publication feels like).
Sooooon…..

I am not looking at publishing poetry – but YOU SHOULD!! And I do know exactly what you feel like – trepidatious is a great word for it. See though – I write and post. LOL VERY rarely hold any thought over and edit (although I should). Because…if I do, I won’t. I think I have 25 or 28 drafts in Mims…because I overthought and didn’t finish or post…and just have let them sit until I don’t even remember what they felt like. 🙂
I can’t wait to see what you have been pondering!

Aw, shucks….. 😉

And my daughter writes the same way. She has a story that she is writing on her blog. In addition to the one or two she is writing in her notebooks.
She just writes it out directly in WP and then hits post. I have to remind myself that although there is no way I could blog that way, it works for her and she is being creative and she is DOING something. Which is more than I can say for myself for the most part lately.

🙂 LOL That is one way. I have a friend like you as well…they craft each piece until its ready. I read your daughter’s work – she is good! 🙂
